Chosen with intent.
Music that holds its ground long after the scene ends.
An IIT Madras alumnus turned composer, music producer, and pianist, Surya Srini is a rising name in the Tamil & Kannada Film Industries. Certified by Trinity College London (8 Grades in Music Theory) and trained in Western classical, Carnatic, and jazz, he has collaborated with GV Prakash, OfRo, Universal Music Group India, Tips Tamil, Black Sheep, Studio Green, Gannet Celluloid, and JumpCuts.
With over 30+ short films (as music director), 2 feature-length web series (Thadayam, Thoduvanam), and Green Girl (as Music Director) to his credit, Surya's works have been showcased at global platforms including Rhodes Island International Film Festival, Chicago South Asian Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival (Oscar-qualifying), and IFFSA Toronto — with wins at Smita Patil Film Festival 2024 and BISFF 2025.
People inherit identities from their environment — family, community, expectation. Some follow those paths. Others question them. Surya's journey began in a family of teachers and led to IIT Madras — but instead of continuing the expected trajectory, he chose music. Not as rebellion. As authorship. A belief that identity isn't only inherited. It can also be created.
“This isn’t a portfolio.
This is a deliberate path.
I didn’t arrive here because there was no option.
I chose this road — and walked it with intent.”

“Surya Srini's genre-defying music is a fantastic accompaniment to the film's structure, which keeps changing between dreamy and harsh.”
